We always have a lot of leftovers from Thanksgiving. Personally, I think leftover turkey is much better the next day!
Leftover Turkey Recipes With Stove Top Stuffing
Basically, you combine holiday leftovers like leftover stuffing, leftover veggies, and of course leftover turkey in a casserole.
Easy Leftover Turkey Casserole
You only need a few simple ingredients for this stuffed casserole recipe. Use what you have at home or buy a few things from the store when you are out!
First, spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray or grease with butter or olive oil. I use a dish that is slightly smaller than a 9 x 13 baking dish.
You can use a smaller baking dish if you don’t have as many scraps to work with. Or a larger baking dish if you have a lot of scraps to work with.

Then add the ground turkey to the bottom of the prepared baking dish. This is about 3 cups of turkey. I used a mixture of dark meat and white meat in this recipe.
Season the turkey with a little salt and pepper. If you want more flavor, add garlic powder or onion powder. You can also add dried thyme, sage or Provence herbs!
This is one of the few casserole recipes where I don’t add a lot of flavor – we’re going with the classic Thanksgiving flavors here.

But again, feel free to add your favorite spices if you’re not a purist when it comes to turkey recipes!
Now pour the remaining turkey sauce over the turkey. Then use a spoon or spatula to smooth the sauce so that the turkey is completely covered in delicious sauce.
Now add the remaining vegetables. We always have fresh green beans at Thanksgiving, so I used some leftover green beans in the casserole.
The Best Stuffing Recipe (+video)
You can use frozen green beans or frozen mixed vegetables if you like. If you have leftover corn, it would be perfect in this casserole.
We usually have jellied cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving dinner – my kids love this stuff! That’s what I add to the casserole.
You can use whole berry sauce or skip it altogether if you’re not a fan of cranberry sauce. If you happen to have some homemade cranberry sauce left over, of course, use it!

Now, add the remaining filling over the other ingredients in the casserole. We make homemade cranberry sausage stuffing and it has dried cranberries for extra flavor.
If you don’t have enough stuffing left, you can use Stovetop Stuffing or your favorite dry stuffing mix.
You can make the filling according to the instructions on the package, and then add the prepared filling to the casserole.
Turkey Stuffing Roll Ups
Or you can mix the dry filling mixture with a cup of horse stock and place the filling cubes in the casserole. This will give you a different texture than the rest of the filling, but it will still taste delicious!
Finally, brush the filling with butter or use melted butter and cover with aluminum foil. Next, put the casserole in a preheated oven.
Bake the turkey casserole for 20 minutes, covered. Then remove the aluminum foil and bake the casserole uncovered for another 10 to 15 minutes.
Tops Friendly Markets
All ovens are different and the total cooking time also depends on the size of the casserole you make.
Because you’re just picking up previously cooked food, this easy leftover turkey casserole is ready when the food is hot and the stuffing is golden brown.
There are many ways to customize this delicious dinner to your taste. If you don’t want to use sauce, use cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup or celery soup flavor.

Thin soup cans with a little milk, broth or water before use. Then use the soup mix instead of the sauce.
The best part about this stuffing casserole recipe is that it works with more than just a turkey stuffing.
Instead of ground turkey, use leftover chicken, rotisserie chicken, or pork chops to turn this leftover Thanksgiving casserole into a year-round favorite. It really is a flexible recipe!
