Sweet Potato Recipes To Make Forever

Already a fan of Rebecca’s, I had the pleasure of meeting her in 2011 at the BB&T Charleston Wine+ Festival. Take comfort in Fast Fox Southern: Get home in 30 minutes or less every week and special dinner nights. His style of eating and cooking, with southern cooking in particular. The car in the room with the sofa is covered with wood. Amazing food, humble, happy food – decades, decades into my life, I still remember the food and the people and the event well, even after the details.

In addition to cooking classes and television appearances, she has been the editor in chief of cooking and book events at The Granary in Fearington Village. In partnership with Fearrington House Restaurant and McIntyre Books, the event includes lunch, a book signing and an opportunity to hear and visit with the author along with a meal. Fearrington’s award-winning executive chef Colin Bedford and his team created an unforgettable meal from the pages of Rebecca’s book.

I forgot to write about the party, I am so good at the marinated asparagus and pecan salad, I ate it all without taking a picture for you to enjoy here. I thought quickly, picked up a copy of the book, and opened the picture of Salad Alad as seen in the book. Bonus! You can pretend you’re sitting at the table with Rebecca Lang as she talks about her book and enjoys the reception.

I write this post with Thanksgiving on the horizon, and for me, potatoes have been a favorite on the Thanksgiving table, my whole life. Every year I read a lot of disparaging comments about sweet potato casserole with mini marshmallows on top. I’m silent like I’m confused, I’m confused! Always love this dish all around. But in Rebecca Lang’s beautiful book, beautifully, beautifully photographed and proudly spoken! Yes! Me too! I made her recipe and mine is not as good but very tasty. I find chopped pecans and cashews are a great topping or topping, and I can make a little sugar myself. I am so excited to have this book for this week, the rest of the year, and the new years ahead. Fox Recipe Box: ‘bubba’s Q’ Southern Sweet Potato Casserole

Kyle St. Clair, partnered with meat drinker One90, stopped by on a beautiful day to share a Thanksgiving staple dish that’s part vegetable, part dessert.

Heat up the smoker. Heat the smoker to 250 degrees with your favorite wood, I like to use pecan. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Wash your potatoes and soak them for 1-1.5 hours. Peel the potatoes when they easily pierce the skin and the skin begins to separate. Place in a bowl of ice water for 5 minutes until cool enough to remove the skin.

Work up. While the potatoes are smoking, prepare the toppings. Cook the bacon in the oven until crisp. When cool, chop the bacon. Place the chopped pecans in a medium mixing bowl. Add flour, brown sugar, melted butter and cinnamon. Rub the flour and sugar over the pecans until combined and bake at 350 for 45-60 minutes until golden brown.

Transfer the potatoes to a large mixing bowl and add the sugar, maple syrup, melted butter and salt. Using an electric mixer, beat the potatoes until smooth. Add two eggs and beat together again.
