Wyse Guide Sweet Potato Casserole
Wyse Guide Sweet Potato Casserole – This hearty taco casserole is a recipe for shepherd’s pie. A layer of beef, corn and beans topped with a layer of sweet potatoes is everything you could want in a dish! The best part is that the chipotle flavor really shines with just a little spice!
When I first started writing recipes, I hated casseroles. Growing up, I remember those evenings when my mom taught sewing classes and left out a box of Hamburger Helper for dinner. I would love to cook it, but the dish itself was always… pale. One caveat: this only happened a few times, and my mom almost always made home-cooked meals.

Sweet Potato Casserole is a classic Thanksgiving recipe. With jumbo sweet potato chunks, pecan topping and quick caramel sauce, it’s a combination of sweet and savory. Even for those who don’t like traditional casserole, this will be a winner!

I grew up eating and enjoying sweet potatoes. Often my mother would bake them and we would eat them with butter, maybe some brown sugar and nothing else. Sweet potatoes don’t need many ingredients to taste good. Yes, sweet potatoes are sweet, but they also have a depth of flavor that isn’t always present in regular white potatoes. From time to time we allow ourselves to cook sweet potatoes in a casserole. The trick is to ensure that the added sugar doesn’t overwhelm the sweet potatoes and that the seasoning adds just enough heat but allows the potato flavor to shine through. This casserole is simple. The potatoes are boiled into pieces and placed directly into the casserole. No mashing is required. The potatoes are sprinkled with brown sugar, maple syrup, flour and butter. Heavy cream and a quick pecan streusel are poured on top. No mixing, pureeing or combining is required. Once baked, the potatoes are coated in caramel sauce and the streusel is crispy. The perfect casserole.
Twice Baked Potato Casserole
Yes, I like to leave crusts. This is a personal preference and will not affect the casserole or the flavor, but rather the texture.

Yes, this casserole can be assembled the day before and refrigerated. Before serving, bake according to the recipe, adding 10-15 minutes to keep the casserole at a cold temperature.
This is a sweet casserole, not as sweet as marshmallow casseroles. To reduce the sweetness, you can skip the brown sugar and use only maple syrup.

Although this is not a traditional sweet potato casserole, this chipotle version will please anyone looking to try this dish for Thanksgiving. Made with sweet potato slices and topped with mildly tangy butter, this dish is super easy to eat!

In my opinion, Thanksgiving should change periodically. I’m not talking about anything radical, but using the basics in a new way.
Wyse Guide’s Baked Rotini Casserole
Sweet potatoes are always on my table in one form or another, but I like variations. There’s enough added sugar in the dessert, and there’s enough natural sugar in the sweet potatoes that I don’t see any reason to add more. Instead of brown sugar and marshmallows, I want to try the sweet potatoes themselves.

This casserole brings out the flavor of the sweet potatoes with homemade chipotle butter. Neither taste masks the other. Instead, they create perfect harmony.
As a rule, I always keep a jar of chipotle adobo in the pantry. If you haven’t used this ingredient yet, it consists of two elements:

Egg, Ham & Sweet Potato Casserole
Together, the chipotles in adobo transform into a rich, smoky, spicy ingredient with a burst of flavor. Opening a can of chipotle in adobo reveals whole peppers in red sauce. I always mix the pepper into the sauce to create a paste-like sauce. It can be easily added to recipes in any quantity.
Given the monotony of the usual browns and yellows found at Thanksgiving, an update is needed. Or at the very least, the holiday needs something unique and fresh to liven up the food. These sweet potatoes can be harvested on Thanksgiving morning and refrigerated until about an hour and a half before serving. Just take them out of the refrigerator and bake them!

Anything that can be prepared in advance saves time and relieves at least some of the stress. I love the simplicity of these potatoes, but also the big flavor they provide!
