Hey Google Recipe For Green Bean Casserole
For too many years, I always passed on green bean casserole at Thanksgiving because it was mushy, bland, and boring. But as it turns out, when homemade bean casserole is seasoned and made with better ingredients, it comes to life and tastes so fresh and delicious. And it’s easy to make!
Healthy Creamy Chicken & Green Bean Casserole (fresh And No Canned)
Instead of the soggy dried green beans, fresh beans are the star of the show here, which are lightly-cooked in order to retain their moisture and bright shine. Instead of a traditional mushroom soup, fresh mushrooms are sautéed and tossed in a light-up creamy Alfredo sauce. And instead of dry, coated, palm-oil-fried onions, red onions are baked with crispy panko breadcrumbs, which stick to a perfect golden color as the pan cooks.
Together, all these ingredients combine to create a casserole that is legitimately delicious and anything but boring. I make it every Thanksgiving, and friends and family all agree it’s the best!

So we’re not using cream of mushroom soup or canned beans here. It’s not because I’m a food snob; I love my weekly McDonald’s and I choose pizza over a healthy meal most of the time. But it doesn’t have to be in a baked bean casserole! I tested them side-by-side, and my version won by a landslide.
I rinse the beans in cold water for a few minutes to stop them from continuing to cook, but you can prepare an ice bath if you prefer. Just fill a large bowl with cold water and ice cubes. After the beans have finished blanching, peel them and transfer them to the ice bath, and then soak them again when they are cold.
Preheat oven to 375 F. Cook the beans and blanch them, rinse with cold water and drain. Add to a 9×13 baking dish. In a skillet, cook the mushrooms, garlic, and Italian mixture in half of the butter, and add to the baking dish.

Melt the remaining butter in the skillet. Add the flour to make a roux. Whisk in the sauce, Dijon mustard and cream. Let it whip until it thickens a little. Season with a little salt & pepper. Pour the sauce into a baking dish.
Cover with half of the crispy onions. Toss everything so that it is combined, then spread in a uniform fabric. Top with some onions and freshly grated parmesan cheese. Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes and enjoy!
