A simple but basic recipe for chicken salt should contain only 3 ingredients. My recipe contains water, sugar and salt. This is it, and it produces moist and juicy chicken no matter which method you choose to prepare yours.

Make this solution before you go to bed at night so that the chicken marinates all day and night in the fridge and is ready to use whenever you decide to cook it.
You can add other ingredients to the chicken brine, such as whole peppers, lemons, herbs, whole garlic, and oranges, but this is a more complicated chicken brine recipe.
Step 2: Place one 3-6 pound whole chicken (thawed) in brine for 8 hours overnight. Cover and refrigerate.

You can leave the chicken in the moist brine for up to two days (a larger turkey will take longer without being too salty), but the liquid needs at least 12 hours to work its magic.
