If you’re in the mood, nothing is as satisfying and inexpensive as your own homemade cornbread, or turning leftovers into a goose enriched with some eggs and sautéed vegetables—cheaper ingredients. That’s probably why southerners preferred cornbread to bread stuffing.

When eggs are raw, they act as a binder to hold the other ingredients together. You can leave out the eggs, but be aware that your dressing may be a bit “mushy”.
When cooking with a pot, you’ll want to cover your pan with aluminum foil for the first 30 minutes. After that, remove the aluminum foil and let it cook for another 10 minutes.
